GRP pipe systems with extra low environmental impact
Amiblu PROX represents a new generation of low‑carbon engineering for glass‑fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) pipe systems. Rather than a standalone product, PROX defines how Amiblu pipes are designed and manufactured to significantly reduce their environmental footprint through optimised materials and responsible sourcing.
By focusing on emissions at the raw material and manufacturing stages, Amiblu PROX enables up to 60 % lower CO2 emissions without compromising performance. The result is a GRP pipe system that maintains the proven strengths of Amiblu: long service life, corrosion resistance, and mechanical reliability.
PROX uses resins derived from renewable and recycled
feedstocks such as food waste, plants, and wood. These resins
are chemically identical to fossil-based alternatives, ensuring
identical mechanical and chemical performance.
Glass fibres used in Amiblu PROX are sourced within Europe to minimise transport-related emissions. They are produced using renewable energy. PROX can also be produced with recycled glass fibres on request, further lowering CO2 emissions.
PROX pipes are manufactured using CO2‑optimised processes, including renewable energy, water‑free production, and continuous process optimisation. Emissions are reduced directly at the manufacturing stage, where they have the greatest climate impact.
Low‑CO2 logistics reduce emissions beyond production. PROX relies on regional sourcing, optimised transport routes, and low‑emission or alternative‑fuel fleets to minimise transport‑related CO2 without affecting delivery reliability.
Amiblu PROX has moved from engineering concept to real‑world application in landmark infrastructure projects across Europe. From drinking water supply to flood protection, these first installations demonstrate how PROX delivers measurable CO2 reductions while maintaining the durability, reliability, and performance expected from Amiblu GRP pipe systems.
In 2025, the first Amiblu PROX pipes were installed at the La Presa de Manises drinking water treatment plant in Valencia in collaboration with Spain’s leading water management company Global Omnium. It was Global Omnium’s strong sustainability commitment that ultimately transformed the concept of PROX into a real-world reference.
“With Amiblu PROX pipes, made from locally sourced raw materials, produced in CO2-neutral factory and transported only short distances, we achieved a 40 % total CO2 reduction compared to using standard Amiblu pipes in our Valencia project”, says Elias Colom from Global Omnium.

Amiblu PROX entered the Italian market with a reference project on the Risalita canal in Campegine and Castelnovo Sotto, Emilia‑Romagna. Commissioned by the Consorzio di Bonifica dell’Emilia Centrale, the project forms part of a broader initiative to enhance stormwater management and reduce flood risk.
Around 1,500 metres of DN 1000 Amiblu PROX pipes were installed in open trench, delivering the strength and reliability required for large‑diameter stormwater applications.

With Amiblu PROX, you get the same high performance and durability you expect, while benefiting from a significantly lower carbon footprint. By using innovative materials and efficient production processes, we help reduce your environmental impact without compromising on quality. This means you can meet your sustainability goals while ensuring the reliability and longevity of your water infrastructure projects.
Amiblu PROX is available in all standard pressure and stiffness classes and can be manufactured in standard and tailored lengths as both pipes and fittings.
Stay ahead of tightening regulations and rising environmental demands. Amiblu PROX isn’t just a pipe – it’s a future-proof solution for your most ambitious projects. Invest in products that keep you compliant and make a real environmental impact.
