Amiblu irrigation project Sifón de Cardiel in Aragón, Spain

Amiblu Pipes Spain supplies 65 km of GRP pipes for the Sifón de Cardiel project

It would take you a full 13 hours to walk the entire irrigation pipe system that is currently being installed in Spanish Aragón. The pipes in diameters ranging from DN 600 to DN 1800 are produced at the Amiblu plant in Camarles and will irrigate a giant area of 5,330 hectares (= 7,464 soccer fields!). The estimated manufacturing and supply period for the pipes will be one year. The Sifón de Cardiel project has an overall budget of 50 million euros and is one of the most important irrigation works ever carried out in Spain.

For Xavier Arasanz, General Manager of Amiblu in Spain,

GRP pipes offer significant advantages for the irrigation sector compared to concrete or steel, due to the low operating costs associated with their use, thanks to their excellent hydraulic performance, high durability and absence of corrosion. We hope that Amiblu will be able to collaborate in the large irrigation transformation projects that are currently being carried out nationally and abroad.”

Here’s a short glimpse of this impressive irrigation project:
