70 km of GRP pressure pipes for a new effective water management system in Bouaké, Ivory Coast
“All that comes out of the tap right now is cockroaches.” It’s summer 2018, and these are the words of a young woman in Bouaké, Ivory Coast.
How comes? The La Loka dam lake, the main source of water supply for the city and its surroundings, had shriveled to a muddy puddle. Climate change with less rain and higher temperatures made the crisis happen.
As a consequence, the National Office of Potable Water in Ivory Coast (ONEP) commissioned a comprehensive water safety project, featuring 70,000 m of Amiblu GRP pipes.
“Water is like treasure now”, said another inhabitant of Bouaké back then in 2018. In 2023, we can decisively add: it still is.
