“Amiblu is a constantly evolving company”
Interview with Marina Roé, Prescription Manager at Amiblu Pipes Spain
What is the pace of work like in a company such as Amiblu?
The pace is dynamic and highly varied. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, which makes it very stimulating. There’s a constant mix of planning and adapting, especially when you work close to the market and in contact with engineering firms, clients, or public authorities. Amiblu is a living company, in constant evolution.
Describe a typical working day at Amiblu.
I organize my day based on weekly goals. I usually start the day by reviewing industry publications and news, checking updates on LinkedIn, and above all, following up on tenders and awards to identify opportunities where GRP can add value. I also dedicate time to calls, meetings with engineering firms, and preparing technical documentation or presentations. I believe the key is maintaining a balance between the strategic and operational aspects.
What do you like most about your job?
Being directly involved in projects from an early stage and having the possibility to recommend a technical solution that truly makes a difference. I’m especially motivated by being able to contribute value through technical expertise and seeing proposals take shape. I also enjoy the autonomy I have to organize my work.
To date, what’s the funniest moment you remember with your department colleagues?
Without a doubt, our last annual meeting. The atmosphere was fantastic, full of laughter and out-of-the-ordinary activities… I think those kinds of events really strengthen the team spirit and help us see each other from a different perspective.
Tell us about a GRP pipeline project you remember for its uniqueness.
One particularly significant project for me is the renovation of the inlet outfall to the Fuente del Saz wastewater treatment plant in Madrid. It’s the largest Non-Circular (NC) pipe project Amiblu has ever carried out in Spain. I had the opportunity to be involved from the very beginning in justifying and studying the material with the construction company and engineering firm to define the solution, ultimately concluding that GRP, thanks to its unbeatable technical characteristics, was the ideal alternative to concrete.
And what gives me the most satisfaction is seeing how this solution we recommended to the market is now a tangible reality: GRP pipes for some of the most important water and energy infrastructure projects are being designed, engineered, and manufactured in our plant and shipped to the site. It’s very rewarding to witness the full cycle, from the initial idea to final execution.
If you hadn’t chosen to be responsible for prescriptions, you would have chosen…
Probably something related to teaching. I enjoy communicating and being in contact with people.
Amiblu has launched an internal transformation process to reduce the environmental impact of its products and contribute to energy savings. What’s your opinion on this?
I see it as a necessary step that’s aligned with the times. In our sector, it’s not enough to be technically strong; we must also be environmentally responsible. I’m proud to be part of a company that not only talks about it but is implementing very concrete measures.
How would you define Amiblu in a few words?
Amiblu is a constantly evolving company that’s committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability.
If Amiblu were a value, it would be…
Commitment — to clients, to quality, to people, and to the environment.
When you leave Amiblu, we’d find you…
Enjoying time with my family and friends, which is most important to me. Also dedicating time to exercise or traveling, two essential ways to care for body and mind and continue growing personally.
How do you see the future? Linked to Amiblu?
Absolutely! I imagine a future where I can continue contributing through my technical and commercial expertise, with new challenges ahead. Amiblu offers me an environment that has allowed me to grow and evolve, and where I still see many opportunities ahead.
