Amiblu supports AMP8 water infrastructure project in the UK
The Eccles Wastewater Treatment Works project strengthens our references and relationships with key infrastructure players in the UK market.
The project is being delivered to J Murphy Ltd, a national Tier 1 contractor operating across major infrastructure sectors in the UK and internationally. It will help reduce flood events in the local area and improve the management of wastewater discharge into nearby watercourses. As one of the first schemes to start on site under United Utilities’ AMP8 improvement programme, it forms part of a wider €15.2 billion investment for the 2025–2030 period.
Works on this phase began in October 2025 and focus on connecting wastewater flows to an existing storage vessel that is currently unused, thereby increasing overall storage capacity on site. A later phase will involve the construction of a 60,000 m³ storage tank, further enhancing resilience and stormwater management.
Amiblu is supplying Hobas pipes DN 2000 and fittings for the upgraded stormwater storage shaft installed during a previous phase of works. The scope includes a DN 2000 elbow and end cap, enabling section completion ahead of the final connection to the in-situ tank.
The order strengthens the position of Amiblu within the UK water infrastructure sector. It supports the development of long-term partnerships with United Utilities and their delivery partners, creating opportunities for earlier design involvement and product specification on future AMP8 projects.
